Lon Augustenborg

President and CEO

Mr. Augustenborg served in the CIA’s Clandestine Service and Directorate of Operations for 35 years reaching the highest ranks of the Senior Intelligence Service. His last position was Chief of CIA’s largest domestic Station where he worked closely with the US private sector and US Law Enforcement. He also served as Chief of Station in CIA’s flag ship locations in both East Asia and Latin America. While posted in Washington DC, he held positions as Chief of Operations for CIA’s Counter Intelligence Center and Chief of Operations for Latin America. Mr. Augustenborg’s eight foreign diplomatic postings included locations in the former Soviet Union, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Prior to entering the CIA, Mr. Augustenborg was a Los Angeles Police Officer where he worked undercover within over in LAPD’s Public Disorder Intelligence Division, as well as served in multiple uniform Divisions, Public Affairs and Juvenile Division.

Mr. Augustenborg holds a BA Degree from the University of Southern California in International Relations and Social Studies, and a MA Degree from Pepperdine University in Public Communication. He also completed a year of study at University College, London England at the Center for International Conflict Resolution. Mr. Augustenborg speaks Spanish and has a working knowledge of Russian, Italian and Hungarian.

A recipient of the CIA Career Intelligence Medal, Mr. Augustenborg chaired the CIA’s leadership and teamwork training program for high performance officers and served on numerous strategic planning and promotion boards for the Intelligence Community. He also worked closely with many foreign intelligence and security services covering four continents where he provided training, operational assistance, logistical support and leadership for joint intelligence programs.

Upon entering the private sector Mr. Augustenborg founded and is the CEO of Novus Intelligence, LLC.  This company provides a full range of risk mitigation services including cyber security, due diligence investigations, and social media and dark web monitoring for large corporations, Law Firms, Financial Institutions and Family Offices.  In addition, Mr. Augustenborg is a Senior Advisor for the Chairman and CEO of Starr Companies Insurance and Global Investments, as well as Teneo global consulting services.  He is also serves on several Advisory Boards including Liberty BioSecurity.

Mr. Augustenborg is married with four children and six grandchildren.

 

Jorgen Augustenborg

Chief Operating Officer

Jorgen Augustenborg is the Chief Operating Officer of Novus Intelligence. He has worked in the technology sector since 2015. He started his career recruiting the top software engineers and product managers for Google. After that he led the Events and Partnerships team at Yelp for almost 5 years, where he developed key partnerships between Yelp’s engineering organization and external partners. He eventually transitioned to Meta (formerly Facebook) to work on their Leadership Recruiting team where he partnered closely with Meta’s Privacy team and virtual reality teams. Jorgen also has experience working at the US Embassy in Bangkok working in the Non-Immigrant Visa department investigating fraudulent/suspicious visa applications, as well as American Citizen Services helping US citizens in Thailand.

Jorgen lives in San Francisco, CA. He recently completed the Citizen Emergency Response Team program (CERT) where he worked with the San Francisco Fire Department to train for: emergency preparedness and response, search and rescue, emergency medicine and triage, as well as disaster psychology.

 

Shawn Springs

Senior Advisor

Shawn Springs, a Senior Advisor at Novus Intelligence, is the CEO and Founder of Windpact, a Software and Technology company located in Northern Virginia. The company’s technologies help clients solve difficult manufacturing challenges, enabling brands to embrace a new era of product development. His inspiration behind the founding of Windpact stems from 13 seasons in the NFL. Drafted third overall in the 1st round of the 1997 draft, he spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Commanders (Redskins), and New England Patriots. Shawn became a Hall of Fame nominee in 2015.

Shawn completed a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from The Ohio State University. As a member of the football team, he was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten Athlete, Big 10 Walter Camp All-American, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 1996, and was elected to the Sports Hall of Fame in 2022. He is a TEDx presenter, giving a talk entitled “Tackling Helmet Protection Head On.” Shawn has pledged to donate his brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation in support of CTE and Concussion Research. He serves as an Advisor to Cerebro NeuroTech and is a Member of the Board of Advisors at Alpha Impact 8.

Born in Williamsburg, VA, Shawn attended high school in Silver Spring, MD and currently resides in Northern Virginia.

 

Jason Anderson

Senior Advisor

Jason Anderson is experienced in the fields of biological discovery, genomic modeling, drug development, international affairs, global economics, and national security.

From 2016-2020, he was a co-founder and member of the board of EdenRoc Sciences, LLC, a privately-held biotechnology company formed to cultivate world-class life sciences start-up companies to include Liberty BioSecurity, LLC, where he served as co-founder and Chief Executive Officer from 2014-2020. This integrated life sciences platform leveraged a dynamic intellectual property portfolio spanning pharmaceuticals, novel biology, genomics, and molecular diagnostics.

From 1998 to 2014, Mr. Anderson served as a diplomat for the United States Department of State. He has co-authored several granted patents in the life sciences and speaks on international affairs and biotechnology innovation. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of California, San Diego and speaks Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin).

 

Evan Carlson

Senior Intelligence Analyst

Evan Carlson completed a 32-yeare career in the National Security Agency (NSA) as an Intelligence Officer responsible for liaison and developing joint operations with US Intelligence Community. Working out the Executive Branch of the NSA, he served in Washington DC, as well as numerous foreign assignments, including serving in the Iraq war and Afghanistan and the Counter Terrorist Center. At the behest of senior policymakers, he was responsible for developing and bringing on line advanced and ever improving collection methods and Intelligence Community collaboration to meet National Security needs. He also served as an NSA executive briefer for Cabinet members and developed NSA’s Congressionally mandated oversight compliance program.

Mr. Carlson lives in the Washington, DC area, and graduated with a BA in International Affaris from George Washington University. He is also well known for his expertise and experience in the wine industry which he is personal passion.

Amanda Rodriguez

Director of Intelligence and analysis

Amanda Rodriguez is the Director of Intelligence and Analysis for Novus Intelligence. She is a 14-year veteran of the CIA and spent the majority of her career in the Counter Terrorism Center. From 2008-09, Amanda served as a CIA representative in the White House Situation Room where she collaborated with other senior officers throughout the Intelligence Community to analyze all source intelligence and write daily briefings for President George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, and their Chiefs of Staff. 

Amanda served in Iraq from 2006-2007 where she collected vital force protection intelligence. As an expert on global terrorist threats, organizations, and leaders, she received five exceptional performance awards at CIA and an Iraq Service Award. She generated leadership profiles and assessments on foreign heads of state, political leaders and international organizations. She also has diplomatic experience having served at the US Mission to UN in New York. Amanda has a B.A. in International Relations from Virginia Tech, and has lived and studied in Belgium, Turkey, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Amanda currently serves as the Director of Outreach for the CIA Officers Memorial Foundation which supports the well-being and educational needs of children and spouses of all fallen CIA officers.

 

Claudia Rodriguez-Hall

Director of Global Operations, International Affairs

Claudia is a former Senior Central Intelligence Agency Officer with more than 25 years of experience in the Federal Government (1991-2016) with numerous roles of increasing responsibility. She has worked on the highest profile and maximum impact challenges faced by the US Government. Claudia is a Certified Field Operations Officer; has lived and worked in various countries; is a recognized leader, mentor, coach and innovator. Her extensive experience in global political, economic, and military affairs include counterintelligence and counter Narcotics, and has been recognized for her ability to build teams, manage resources, execute and devise operations in both stable and volatile environments. Additional experience includes negotiating with diverse cultural groups acquired through assignments and extended travels overseas and in the United States.
